You created the moons and stars and skies

Yet you answer my whats and wheres and why’s

 

You control the orbits and neurons and heart beats

Yet you know what our heart truly wants and needs

 

You destroy all that is sinful and prideful and fake

Yet for us You put your own Son’s life at stake

 

You teach me to see

the good behind every trial

You teach me to go

for others an extra mile

 

You teach me to be bold

and in sorrow to be strong

You teach me to be right

and avoid what is wrong

 

You teach me to be wise

and in the storm to be calm

You teach me that for every hurt

You will be my balm

 

You teach me how to forgive

even though I’m hurting inside

You teach me that your plan

and sunshine cannot forever hide

 

You teach me how to love others

despite the sorrow and strife

You teach me that You are enough for me

and that You have a plan for my life
